Ezri Konsa is reportedly having a medical at Aston Villa after they activated his release clause at Brentford.
That release clause was believed to be £12million as the newly-promoted club look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
The Sun report the 21-year-old is currently having a medical at the club before the proposed move is completed.
The central defender was signed by Brentford last summer for just £2.5million from Charlton and was a regular starter in the side.
Dean Smith was the manager who brought in Konsa last season and was a key member of his side before he left for Villa.
