Salvatore Ferragamo has received a great honor. They are now a fashion
brand with a stamp. The Italian luxury label was honored in Florence on
Monday, November 30 with a stamp to commemorate their 100th anniversary of
their collaboration with Hollywood.
The stamp features an image of a shoe design from Ferragamo’s archives that
they realized for Marilyn Monroe in 1958, along with a pendulum suspended
on a plantar arch in recognition of Salvatore Ferragamo’s study of
foot-anatomy.
The stamp was presented by Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development at a
ceremony in the main hall of Palazzo Spini Feroni, the site of the firm’s
headquarters since 1938. In attendance at the ceremony were several members
of the Ferragamo family, including Wanda, Giovanna, Fulvia, Ferrucio, and
Leonardo. Luisa Todini, president of Italian Poste Italiane, was also in
attendance, respectfully.
