FIFA are set to hold ‘secret meetings’ in a bid to source a replacement country to host the 2022 World Cup finals, according to reports.
TNT Sports claim that world football’s governing body are looking at alternatives to host the prestigious event, after receiving widespread criticism over awarding the tournament to Qatar.
This mainly stemmed from the fact the competition will have to be held in the winter, as opposed to the summer, which is when it usually takes place.
However, it now looks likely this decision will be reversed in the near future.

This latest update comes after it emerged Michel Platini, the former UEFA president, had been arrested for alleged acts of corruption.
The Frenchman is currently serving a four-year ban from football, due to expire in October this year, but investigators leading the fight against corruption within the game have arrested him as part of the case looking into how Qatar won the right to host the next World Cup.
Platini, 63, is reportedly in custody at the Office anti-corruption judicial police (OCLCIFF) in Nanterres, a suburb of Paris.
