The Oceanside arena is hosting First Responders Night during the Dec. 29 San Diego Clippers game against the Memphis Hustle.
Alexis Jehue, vice president of marketing at Frontwave Arena, told Patch that the arena is “proud to honor and thank the brave men and women who serve our community every day.”
“This special evening is an opportunity to show our gratitude, celebrate their courage and dedication, and recognize the critical role they play in keeping us safe,” Jehue said. “We look forward to celebrating their contributions with an exciting night of San Diego Clippers basketball.”
The first 2,500 fans at the game will receive a pair of thundersticks to make some noise and cheer on the San Diego Clippers.
Starting at 4 p.m., fans can get a chance to meet local first responders and get an up-close look at ambulances, firetrucks, lifeguard trucks and police cars on display in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park Plaza.
The San Diego Clippers will take the court in special edition jerseys to honor the bravery and dedication of first responders throughout the night. At half-time, the Oceanside Police Department will go head-to-head in a friendly showdown with the Oceanside Fire Department.
First responders can purchase $9 tickets to the game here.
The game starts at 6 p.m. Dec. 29 at Frontwave Arena, located at 3475 Hero Drive in Oceanside.
