Leicester defender Harry Maguire has responded to an article in The Sun linking with a move to Manchester United.
Maguire’s future at the King Power stadium has been a constant source of speculation even though he signed a new five year contract with the club last September.
And the piece that the national publication ran will do little to ease the fears of Foxes fans who will be desperate for Maguire to stay.
The article suggested Maguire dropped a huge hint that he was heading to Old Trafford after liking a post on Instagram from a fan saying he would be a ‘fan favourite’ at United.
However, Maguire – who has 20 senior England caps to his name – took the fairly unprecedented step of directly responding to a specific story about his future.
Maguire retweeted the article before writing: “I didn’t mean to guys…we’ve all been there.”
Premier League champions Manchester City are also understood to be interested in Maguire.
Manchester United tried to sign Maguire during last summer’s transfer window, however Leicester held firm.

It’s not clear whether the Red Devils will make an approach for him in the current transfer window but it is understood United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to improve his defence.
United had a £35million bid, with the deal potentially rising to £50m in add-ons, for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka turned down earlier this week.
