Lyon have made a miserable start to the 2022/23 campaign, having amassed 13 points from nine games in the Ligue 1. As an outcome of those poor results, Peter Bosz’s side currently stands seventh in the league table.

Speaking to L’Équipe, Houssem Aouar reflected on the team’s poor run of form in recent times. Nevertheless, upon facing questions about the manager’s future at the club, the 24-year-old admitted that everyone should share the blame. He said:
“When we lose, everyone is responsible. We players have to do better. We have a quality squad. We have very, very good players. As far as the coach’s philosophy is concerned, he has been telling us about it for a long time, we have been working on high pressing. We know very well what to expect and what he wants.”
From nine game in the French league, Lyon have secured only four wins this season and lost four games. The most worrying aspect, however, remains that each of the defeats has come from their last four league fixtures. When asked about whether Aouar, who has made only one appearance this season, could help Bosz turn the tide, the Frenchman replied:
“Yes, of course! I say that in all humility because it will, first of all, have to be a collective effort. Everyone will have to raise the level of play. But I am mentally and physically ready, I am 100%.”
