Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière showed his
Cruise collection 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. The show took place on
Saturday May 28 in the Museum of Contemporary art (MAC) of Niterói. “Being
able to show a fashion collection in such an architecturally powerful space
is a sensorial experience,” said Ghesquire.
Ghesquière seems inspired by the worlds of sports, and the 2017 Cruise
collection also pays homage to two major Brazilian artists: Hélio Oiticica,
founder of the “neo-concrete” art movement and Aldemir Martins, an artist
renowned for his paintings of flora and fauna. The first model wore a blue,
yellow, red and white dress with scuba-like details and a paneled skirt. A
report.
