London – British high street staple, Topshop, has unveiled its first ‘High
Summer’ capsule collection developed in collaboration with
Net-a-Porter.com. The 20-piece assortment, which officially launches today,
is said to have been inspired by the Henley Royal Regatta, a rowing event
held annually on the River Thames.
The resulting collection consists of mannish suiting in monochrome stripes
and florals, taken from the garlands used to decorate the boats, white and
blue lace designs as well as primly pleated collars and cuffs. The
collection also features classic khaki denims, cable knit sweaters and boat
shoes in leopard ponyskin.
“We continue to use our heritage of British Style and culture to bring to
life new season shapes for the ‘High Summer’ collection, yet focus on what
is familiar and signature to the Unique handwriting,” said Kate Phelan,
Creative Director at Topshop. “Each design brings an element of fun,
celebrates the great British summer and captures the spirit of all the
wonderful annual social events.”
Prices for the collection range from 55 pounds to 275 pounds (105 US
dollars to 500 US dollars) with the collection available for sale
exclusively at Topshop.com and Net-a-Porter.com.
