New York – Ines de la Fressange, the French model, artisocrat, fashion designer, and
perfumer, is arguably one of the most impressive style icons of her
generation. Her style is so impressive that fast-fashion brand Uniqlo took
notice. Continuing the success of the previous collections, the Ines de la
Fressange and Uniqlo collaboration arrived in stores last week, and seems
to be retaining its status as a fan favorite.
The new capsule collection for this season includes items like linen
dresses, seersucker blazers, and cotton-cashmere sweaters. There is a
preppy element combined with Parisian chic that came together to create
this collection. All the looks are meant to be the perfect balance of
femininity and traditional French styling.
While it is a chic capsule collection, it is still very affordable. Price
points for the collection range from 14 dollars and 90 cents for a scarf to
129 dollars and 90 cents for a trench coat.
The collection is available both online and in Uniqlo stores.
While Uniqlo’s sales took a hit due to the extended period of warm weather
this winter season, their capsule collections are still expected to be
successful, and could potentially offset some of the lost revenue from the
earlier winter periods. One of the company’s claims to fame is their heat
tech technology garments which are usually perfect for winter. Given the
warm temperatures in December, with major markets like New York seeing
highs of 70 degrees during the Christmas time frame, sales were sluggish.
In addition to the Ines de la Fressange collaboration, Uniqlo’s Lemaire
collaboration and Carine Roitfeld collaborations are also returning this
spring season. Both collections were very successful for the brand in the
past, with the Lemaire collaboration virtually selling out by end of
season.
