London – Paris-based designer Jean Paul Gaultier will launch a value range in
collaboration with Target in Australia in early 2016.
The designer, who this year bowed out of Paris Fashion Week, will
collaborate on a collection of over 100 styles that spans womenswear,
menswear, kidswear as well as accessories and homeware.
Gaultier’s signature nautical, denim and leather aesthetic will be featured
throughout, with retail pricing starting at just 10 Australian dollars.
Gaultier said in a statement that the partnership with Target represents
his belief that fashion belongs not just on the runway but also in the
every-day life.
“I wanted it to be very Gaultier,” he said. “There are tattoos and navy
stripes but also denim that I love to work with, leather biker jackets,
prints that we have developed that are a mixture of Parisian and Australian
motifs.”
Target has previously worked with international designers including Roberto
Cavalli, Stella McCartney, Missoni and Dion Lee on budget lines.
