As we noted earlier in the week, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler revealed on his “Dinner with The King” podcast that he suffered a stroke just three weeks before WrestleMania 34, but he was able to fulfill his duties in New Orleans and call the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal alongside Jim Ross.
The New York Post has since spoken to Lawler about the stroke, and The King revealed during the interview that he was having sex with his girlfriend Lauryn McBride when he suffered the stroke.
“I got up and I said something to Lauryn and I didn’t really feel anything, and she said, ‘What did you say?’
“And I realized then that whatever I said didn’t sound right, and then she looked at me — we made eye contact — and she said, ‘Oh my God, Jerry, go look in the mirror.’
“I walked around to the bathroom and I look in the mirror, and the whole right side of my mouth is drooping all the way down to my chin.”
Lawler noted that the stroke left him unable to speak for two days, however, he has since made a full recovery.
