JOLIET — A 59-year-old Joliet man faces several criminal charges following last week’s arrest involving a stolen vehicle out of Lockport, the Joliet police arrest report show.
Henry Lange was released from custody after getting his notice to appear in court on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing a peace officer, resisting arrest and theft.
According to Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros, the following events led to Lange’s capture:
On December 9, at about 2 p.m., the officers were dispatched to the area of Cass and Collins Streets regarding a stolen vehicle.

Earlier, the officers learned that a white pickup truck had been stolen out of Lockport. When responding to the area, the officers saw a white truck matching the description of the stolen truck from Lockport. The officers tried to stop the stolen truck, however the driver, later identified as Lange, refused to stop.
Lange violated several traffic laws as he traveled toward the intersection of Webster and Scott Street Lange, still refusing to stop, before losing control of the truck and crashing into a building at this intersection.
At that point, Lange continued to drive onto Scott Street where he struck a parked vehicle, Landeros pointed out.
From there, Lange exited the stolen truck and tried to walk away. After Lange refused to obey the officers’ commands to stop, he was ultimately taken to the ground and into custody.
Officers found a stolen laptop computer as well as an open bottle of alcohol in the cab of the truck. Lange was taken to the local hospital for minor injuries.
At that point, the 59-year-old Joliet man was driven to the Joliet Police booking area for processing. Lange was released on a notice to appear in court without incident.
