British lifestyle brand Joules has donated 8,000 pounds to Yorkshire based
animal sanctuary and charity Nuzzlets.
The brand, a long-standing supporter of the charity, presented the donation
to Nuzzlets this week at its recently opened Harrogate store. The donation
was generated over the past year of the sale of two items of clothing from
Joules ‘Little Joule’ children’s wear collection sold throughout 2015. For
each product sold, 5 percent went directly to Nuzzlets.
“Joules is all about taking time out to enjoy the outdoors, and in our
partnership with Nuzzlets we have managed to marry that approach with our
brand values,” commented Ronny Helvey, Marketing Director at Joules. “We’re
thrilled that our donation will help Nuzzlets take the next step in
building their mobile and woodland classrooms and in doing so will enable
the charity to reach and involve even more people.”
The charity’s mission is to provide animal therapy for children with
life-limiting illnesses,
disabilities and special needs, as well as adults with mental health
problems and the elderly.
The donation from Joules will be used to create two new classrooms, which
have been specially designed to enable Nuzzlets to help even more people.
The first classroom will be a mobile one, which will better suit the needs
of visitors who are less mobile, such as those in wheelchairs and may
require shelter. The second classroom is a woodland classroom, which will
use tree stumps as tables and chairs to allow visitors the chance to
experience nature first hand.
“Here at Nuzzlets we rely on generous donations to ensure that we’re
helping our visitors as best we can and we cherish our partnership with
Joules, which we’ve enjoyed for a number of years now,” said Mary Chapman,
Co-creator of Nuzzlets. “Thanks to Joules’ support, the mobile classroom
and woodland classroom can go from an idea to a reality.”
Joules will continue to support Nuzzlets this year and will be donating 5
percent of sales from the Jnr Ava in Lime Peony throughout Spring/Summer
2016.
