New York – Many shoe fans have had their calendar marked for October 29 for quite some
time in preparation for the release of Kanye West’s Yeezy 950s. A majority
of the retailers carrying Yeezy Season 1 have already sold out of the Yeezy
950s, however. Many retailers waited until their usual store opening times
of 10 a.m. before they opened the doors to customers who wanted the boots,
and the lines were already around the corner far before then.
At 11 o’clock this morning, there were a limited number in stock left on
Adidas’s website, but those have since seemed to have disappeared. Barney’s
has already completely sold out of the boots in all four color offerings
(peyote, moonrock, chocolate, and pirate black.) The men’s styles retailed
at 595 dollars, and the women’s styles retailed at 625 dollars.
A quick google shopping search will tell you that there is almost no
website left with a single pair of Yeezy 950s available. The only hope
seems to be E-bay, where the boots are going for over 800 dollars.
Over in the U.K. the Yeezy camo t-shirt, boots, and hoodies sold out within
15 minutes at the Philip Browne men’s wear store according to Footwear
News.
At 11 a.m., the shoes went live on Opening Ceremony’s website and were
available at their Howard Street store, but for the website you need a
password to see if they are even available. At 4 p.m. today, a sales
associate at Opening Ceremony’s store confirmed that they still had select
men’s and women’s styles available. It’s unclear how much longer that will
last, but if you stand a chance at getting these shoes Opening Ceremony
appears to be your last hope.
