Chelsea lost 1-0 to Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale in a pre-season friendly on Friday.
Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao scored the winning header two minutes from the end of the match.
Pre-season results normally do not mean much to managers but Frank Lampard may have been a little concerned by the lack of chances the Blues created.
Lampard had an experienced starting XI at the Nissan Stadium with senior players like Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso in defence.
New permanent signing Mateo Kovacic played alongside Jorginho in midfielder while Pedro also started.
N’Golo Kante was not fit enough to even make the bench in Japan while Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tammy Abraham missed the game through illness.
Mason Mount and Pedro had chances in the first half but could not get their shots on target.
Lampard’s side took an hour before they had their first shot on target.
Kenedy and Olivier Giroud were denied by goalkeeper Shoto Arai before Damiao scored the winner late on.

Chelsea’s £58-million man Christian Pulisic came off the bench in the 64th minute to replace Mason Mount.
Lampard will be hoping for a much better showing from his side when they face Barcelona at the Saitama Stadium in Japan on Tuesday.
That will be their final match before heading back to England for a friendly with Reading on July 28.
