French ready-to-wear label Carven is collaborating with fellow French
catalogue and online retailer La Redoute on a capsule collection for
spring/summer 2016.
The collection, which is set to launch in January 2016, has been
designed by Carven’s creative design duo Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis
Martial, and evokes the spirit of travel taking inspiration from the air
hostess uniforms that were created by the house’s founder, Madame Carven,
in the sixties and seventies.
Offering pieces cut close to the body, along wth fluid feminine
silhouettes, key pieces include well-cut trousers, Carven signature belted
waists, pleats and mini skirts in a colour palette of navy, black and
cream, with highlights of red, pastel tones and khaki hues.
“I already follow the work of Alexis and Adrien and love the uniqueness
of Carven,” said Sylvette Lepers, head of style at La Redoute. “I was
sensitive to their message on the concept of accessibility and fresh
approaches to the French woman’s style.”
Carven follows in the footsteps of Yves Saint Laurent, Azzaro, Anthony
Vaccarello, Robert Clergerie, Delphine Collin, Vanessa Bruno, Courreges and
Jacquemus who have collaborated with the French retailer.
The La Redoute Carven collection will be priced from 29 to 149 pounds
and will be available from January 2016 exclusively on La Redoute.
