Swedish fashion retailer Lindex, which is gaining in popularity in the
UK after opening its second store in London at the end of 2015, is
launching a collection this week with Swedish School of Textiles graduate
Josefin Runquist.
The Tomorrow by Josefin Runquist collection follows the designer winning
the ‘best design idea’ and collection amongst graduates at Stockholm
Fashion Week.
The capsule collection of seven “fashion-forward pieces with clean cut
and timeless lines” has been inspired by people’s natural movement, and
will be on sale at selected Lindex stores in Sweden, Finland, Czech
Republic and the UK, as well as online from February 12.
Commenting on the collection, Runquist said: “Humans are mostly moving,
and I’ve created garments for that. By the natural movement my collection
comes to life and brings unexpected volume and a whole new expression. The
core of the collection is what happens to the garment when you are moving –
what you see is not always what you get.”
The colour palette of the collection is black and white, with
contrasting raspberry red hues. Pleats are the main focus of the
seven-piece collection of separates, with key items being the wide-leg
trousers and matching draped vest tops. Prices range from 49.99 pounds for
a top to 89.99 pounds for the coat.
Lindex is the main sponsor of the Swedish School of Textile’s graduate
show and has collaborated with the school’s fashion design department for
four years.
Lindex head of design, Annika Hedin, added: “Being a new designer in the
fashion industry, it can be hard to be seen and acknowledged. As an
international fashion company, Lindex have a responsibility of bringing new
talents into the light and this collaboration is a way for us to encourage
that process.”
The Swedish retailer has more than 490 stores in 18 markets, including
two UK stores in London Westfield and London Westfield Stratford City.
