Argentina captain Lionel Messi has been banned from international football for three months after accusing CONMEBOL of corruption.
The Barcelona star launched a scathing attack on South American football’s governing body after Argentina finished third in the Copa America.
Messi was handed an immediate one-match ban for his comments and now he has been given further punishment.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will miss Argentina’s friendlies with Chile and Mexico in September and Germany in October.
He has also been ordered to pay a £41,000 fine.
The Albiceleste were knocked out by eventual winners Brazil in the semi-finals before Messi was shown a red card during the third-place play-off match against Chile.
The 32-year-old refused to collect his medal, and after the game he said: “There is no doubt, the whole thing is set up for Brazil.
“I did not want to be part of this corruption. We shouldn’t have to be part of this disrespect we suffered during the Copa America.
“We could have gone further, but we weren’t allowed into the final. Corruption, referees and all the rest stopped people from enjoying the football.”
