Ernesto Valverde has described Lionel Messi as ‘incomparable’ after the Argentine maestro scored another landmark goal for Barcelona.
The manager says he has ‘run out of words’ to describe the 32-year-old after he scored his 50th career free-kick goal.
Messi scored twice and provided two brilliant assists for Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal, as another masterclass led Barcelona to a 5-1 win over Real Valladolid.
It was the Catalan club’s seventh straight victory in all competitions and lifted them back to the top of LaLiga.
And, like the thousands of fans packed into the Nou Camp, Messi’s coach was in awe of his brilliance.
“What else can be said about him? I’ve run out of words,” Valverde told a post-match press conference.
“We always know that he will appear, whatever the match.
“His talent isn’t comparable to anything, the reality is that every time he touches the ball, something special happens. I just don’t know what to say.”
Valladolid boss Sergio Gonzalez, whose side were unbeaten in their previous five matches, was also left stunned by Messi’s display.
“Messi’s free-kick, it was a masterpiece.”
