Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims VAR could wreck careers following the latest weekend of controversy in the Premier League.
Klopp’s side were forced to stage a dramatic comeback to beat Aston Villa 2-1 thanks to late goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane.
But before that, the Reds were denied an earlier equaliser when Roberto Firmino’s armpit was ruled offside by VAR.
“When we talk about serious moments, very important moments in football, it’s not right to sit here and everyone wants to laugh about it,” Klopp said.
“It is not to laugh about. It is too serious. Managers get sacked for losing football games.
“They just have to clarify it. I am not saying anyone is doing it on purpose.”

Villa Park wasn’t the only scene of VAR controversy in the Premier League yesterday.
Chelsea were forced to survive a late fightback at Vicarage Road when Watford were awarded a contentious penalty for a foul by Jorginho on Gerard Deulofeu.
And Blues boss Frank Lampard echoed Klopp’s thoughts, arguing that the current state of VAR is ‘dangerous’.
“I know it is a bit contentious, but if we are going to start saying there are grey areas when turning over decisions because one referee somewhere else thinks it’s more of a penalty than the referee on the pitch did, then I think we are in a really dangerous place.
“We are going to be tossing a coin every week to see what decisions you get.”
