Liverpool outcast Ryan Kent is attempting to push through a move to Rangers, according to reports.
The 22-year-old was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year after scoring six goals throughout an impressive Ibrox loan spell last season.
Gers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to bring Kent back north of the border on a second loan deal, but Liverpool want to permanently sell their academy graduate.
Kent’s only senior Liverpool appearance came in a 2-2 FA Cup draw with Exeter in January 2016 and he is not in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans.
With the Scottish transfer window open until September 2, the Daily Record claim the £7million-rated winger will plead with Reds chiefs to allow him to join Rangers on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal – and it has been claimed he’ll even ‘down tools’ to force a transfer.
A source told the Scottish outlet: “When the English window closed without Ryan moving on, Rangers realised they may still have a chance of doing a deal but that they would have to be creative in order to make it happen.

“Klopp has ruled out another straightforward loan but Rangers hope the additional clause, which would turn it into a permanent move at a future date, might help swing the deal in their favour.
“Ryan knows he’ll have to do everything he can to help make it happen and it seems that’s exactly what he is trying to do. The current situation suits no one.
“It’s going down to the wire now but there is still time to push it through.”
Kent, who is fully fit, was left out of Liverpool’s Under-23 squad for their 3-0 defeat by Chelsea on Monday.

Last month, Gerrard admitted Rangers had been priced out of a move for Kent.
“I haven’t asked that question (to the board) but I think the answer would probably be yes,” said Gerrard, who revealed the figures required to sign Kent would be too much for his side.
“Jurgen has come out and given the answer that will come out of my mouth anyway. It has been addressed and we move on.
“The end of it? Where we are right now, yes. We respect Liverpool’s stance and we thank them very much for allowing us to work with Ryan for a year.
“We have obviously got a Liverpool player at the moment in Sheyi Ojo who has started very well.
“I had a good conversation on the phone with Jurgen a few days ago and we totally respect Liverpool’s position on it.”
Kent has had loan spells with Coventry, Barnsley, Freiburg, Bristol City and Rangers in recent years.
