Malakai Black will return to an AEW ring for the first time since laying out Cody Rhodes as he will face Brock Anderson on next week’s Dynamite.
Anderson called for the match to avenge his father, Arn, as Black debuted by delivering Black Mass kicks to both Arn and Cody Rhodes. Brock asked for the match to avenge his father despite their differences in experience. Black defeated Rhodes on the recent Homecoming edition of Dynamite and as Rhodes was about to announce a retirement, Black laid him out once again.
The show will also feature a semifinal in a four-team tournament for a Tag Team title shot in a steel cage match at All Out as the Varsity Blonds will take on the Lucha Brothers.
The Blonds were unable to defeat current champions The Young Bucks for the titles in a recent match while Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix have yet to challenge the Bucks for the titles. However, the last time the Brothers faced the Bucks in a straight tag team match, they successfully defended the AAA Tag Team titles in a ladder match at 2019’s All Out.
Orange Cassidy will return to Dynamite as he takes on Matt Hardy in a match that has been brewing for several weeks.
Jamie Hayter will take on Red Velvet in a match stemming from Hayter’s return last Friday to align with Women’s Champion Britt Baker. This will be Hayter’s first AEW match since a November 2019 tag team match on Dynamite.
The current card for next week:
Malakai Black vs. Brock Anderson
Tag Team title eliminator tournament semifinal: Varsity Blonds vs. Lucha Brothers
Red Velvet vs. Jamie Hayter
Orange Cassidy vs. Matt Hardy
