Ilkay Gundogan has an early claim for miss of the season in Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Everton.
The midfielder will be wondering how he managed to not find the target from three yards out with an open goal in front of him.
Riyad Mahrez beautifully hit the ball with the outside of his foot across the face of the goal where Gundogan was waiting at the back post with what looked like a simple tap in.
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was well beaten and it should have been 1-0 to City.
However, the 28-year-old somehow managed to smash the ball against the crossbar from three yards out when it would have been easier to score.
The ball was then cleared by the Everton defenders.
It did not take City long to get on the scoresheet, though, with Gabriel Jesus heading in after 24 minutes with another assist for Kevin De Bruyne.
The Toffees managed to get themselves back on level terms eight minutes later, though, when Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in Seamus Coleman’s goalbound shot.

City went on to win the game 3-1, though, with Riyad Mahrez adding a second from a free-kick after 71 minutes before Raheem Sterling sealed all three points six minutes from time.
