Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford may be set for a gruelling pre-season to prove his doubters wrong after seeing this stunning stat.
The 21-year-old is undoubtedly one of the Premier League’s brightest young stars but he came under the spotlight for his form – or lack thereof – this term.
Matthijs de Ligt may have named Rashford as the toughest striker he has faced, but the youngster’s recent poor goal record has seen him come under fire.
And he has faced fresh criticism, after it was pointed out Rashford netted fewer goals than Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos for club and country in 2018/19.
Rashford looked out of sorts towards the end of the campaign and managed just three goals in his last 17 matches in a United shirt.
In truth, the majority of the United squad under-performed in the second half of the season, as they finished sixth in the Premier League to miss out on Champions League qualification.

The young striker enjoyed a purple patch in December and January, scoring seven times in ten games, but his lack of consistent goals was always an annoyance for ex-manager Jose Mourinho, who also often played the England international out wide.
When the Special One was sacked, Rashford was given a more prominent role by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but struggled to regularly find the net after his two-month hot streak.
And he may have to prove to Solskjaer he is the right man to lead the line for United, having scored fewer goals than central defender Ramos this term – despite the Real Madrid captain playing fewer games and fewer minutes than the Red Devils striker.

It’s worth noting the Spain international is a designated penalty taker at Real, and 11 of his 17 strikes this season have been from the spot, but his goal return is still an incredible record for a centre-back.
United fans will be hoping Rashford gets his confidence back and brushes up on his finishing in time for the new season, as they look to put what has been a miserable campaign behind them.
