Online menswear retailer Mr Porter is teaming up with contemporary
fashion retailer Cos on a capsule menswear collection for spring 2015, due
to launch on May 7.
The Modern Traveller menswear collection will consist of 23-pieces,
including outerwear, tailoring, accessories, footwear and shirts in
seasonal hues of grey, deep navy and burgundy that have been created with
the ‘frequent diverse traveller’ in mind.
The collaboration will be available from Mrporter.com as well as in 12
Cos stores worldwide, including Regent Street, Covent Garden and Westfield
London. This partnership marks the second time Mr Porter has ventured
offline, in January it produced a collection for spy film Kingsman and sold
the range via a one-day pop-up in London.
It is hoped that the design collaboration will help introduce the
H&M-owned brand into new markets.
“We wanted to create a collection that reinterpreted function for every
occasion,” explains Martin Andersson, the head of men’s design at Cos. “A
collection where the tailored suit can take you from a business meeting to
an art gallery opening in the evening.”
Mr Porter senior buyer Sam Lobban added: “We have a lot of respect for
[Cos’s] ideals and integrity, which very much fall in line with ours; the
quality and design is in a class of its own.”
