FAYETTE, Iowa – Minnesota State wrestling will embark on a road trip to face #7 Upper Iowa Friday, at 7 p.m., at the Dorman Gymnasium in Fayette, Iowa.
Minnesota States comes in with a 2-7 overall record and a 2-3 NSIC record. Upper Iowa holds a 13-1-1 record with a 5-0 NSIC record.
MSU’s last time out concluded with a loss at Southwest Minnesota State by a score of 31-9. Trevor Schultz (Fr., 125 lbs.) recorded his first NSIC win dating back to December 21 where he defeated Hunter Menendez, 11-5, from the University of Mary.
Adam Cooling (Fr., 157 lbs.) looks to keep his winning streak of six alive against a formidable foe Zak Benitz (Upper Iowa).
The Mavericks bolster three grapplers who have 20 or more wins including: Darick Vancura (Fr., 174 lbs.) with 23 wins, Cooling with 21 wins, and Scott VanDeLoo (So., 184 lbs.) with 20 wins.
MSU’s next dual will be the final home dual of the season on February 13. The Mavericks host #4 St. Cloud State for the 7 p.m. tilt at Taylor Center.
