One of Impact Wrestling’s tentpole events of the year saw three new champions crowned including a new World champion in the evening’s main event.
At Saturday’s Slammiversary, Eddie Edwards pinned Ace Austin in a fatal five way after two Boston Knee Party strikes and the Die Hard Flowsion to begin his second World title reign.
The match was made a five way when the returning Eric Young came out after Rich Swann was announced as the mystery fourth entrant. Young eliminated Trey Miguel while Swann eliminated Young, leading to an attack afterward by Young. Austin eliminated an injured Swann shortly thereafter.
