WWE has cancelled numerous shows recently in order to save money and expenses. Shows such as Legends with JBL, Talking Smack, Unfiltered, and the Edge & Christian Show were all cancelled within the past year. According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE is apparently planning on creating a new series. The new show will reportedly be titled “365”, and it will be a documentary series focusing on a year in a superstar’s career. The first episode will reportedly focus on Kevin Owens’ Intercontinental Championship feud from 2016, and it will end with his Universal Championship run in early 2017. The first episode will reportedly premiere on November 11th, 2017.
One of the most notable wrestlers on the independent circuit is set to sign a deal with WWE very soon. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that EVOLVE’s Fred Yehi will be joining the NXT brand in just a matter of time. Yehi is a former tag team champion in EVOLVE, and he previously wrestled a Cruiserweight Classic qualifying match for WWE last year, losing to the eventual tournament winner TJ Perkins (TJP). Yehi has been praised by wrestling fans for his great athleticism, and he could definitely leave an impact in the promotion. As of right now, no deal between the two sides has been made, but the announcement of Yehi’s signing is expected to come soon.
It was recently announced that the popular What Culture Pro Wrestling promotion in the United Kingdom would be going away for good. Instead, the show will be rebranded as Defiant Wrestling. WCPW just concluded their final shows before the relaunch officially takes place on December 4th. Seattle-based promotion DEFY Wrestling, however, was not amused by the name change. DEFY sent out a tweet letting fans know their thoughts on WCPW’s decision to rename themselves as a similar sounding name. DEFY Wrestling has been trying to build up their company for years, so the frustration may be a little bit understandable.
Well, for the sake of the DEFYANCE, the Wrestlers and DEFY itself, we tried but @wcpw doesn’t care. They should be ashamed. – Jim Perry™
