Independent emerging designer platform Not Just A Label has open
applications for its third The Future of Fashion Program, which is run in
collaboration with trade shows Who’s Next and Premiere Classe in Paris.
The competition gives 30 emerging designers the chance to grow
internationally and to present their labels and collections in Paris for up
to three seasons for free.
For the first season, all 30 shortlisted designers, 10 ready-to-wear
designers, 10 urban wear designers, and 10 accessory designers, will
showcase their spring/summer 2017 collections at the Who’s Next and
Premiere Classe trade shows in Paris in September, as well as receive
mentoring session.
Each designer will then be accessed while at the trade shows and the
shortlisted designers will then be narrowed down to 15, five of each design
category, who will then proceed to present their autumn/winter 2017
collections in January 2017.
In September 2017 three winners, one from each category, will be
announced and they will receive their third and final trade show spot at
Fame, Urban or Premiere Classe, to present their spring/summer 2018
collections.
Each season the designers will be judged on their creativity as well as
their business capacity to market their collections by the program’s
mentors who sit at the forefront of the fashion industry.
To apply to be part of Not Just A Label’s The Future of Fashion program,
designers must have a complete and updated profile on notjustalabel.com,
featuring their latest collection(s). In addition, only designers who have
not shown at a Paris trade show before will be considered, and each
designer needs to have already produced two commercial collections.
Applications are open now until May 6.
