WWE posted news on their NXT social media accounts that NXT Champion Bobby Roode and NXT star Roderick Strong apparently seemed to get into a fight backstage. It looks like the ordeal came during a photoshoot that occurred just before the show. WWE is urging fans to tune in to the show tonight to get more details, thus confirming that this is being done to help further the storyline between Roode and Strong. Roderick Strong has been being pushed more and more as a family man each week on television, and it definitely looks like a title match between he and Roode is coming a lot sooner rather than later. NXT airs at 8PM EST on the WWE Network for those who want to see what may happen next.
Kimber Lee has been making a few appearances for the NXT show recently, but she has not been going by that name. Instead, she has been wrestling under her real name of Kimberly Frankele, but now the company has assigned her a new name. She will now be known as Abbey Laith as she continues to compete for WWE. Laith, as she is now known, was signed to WWE back in January of this year, and she has competed in many different promotions since 2011. She has even managed to hold the Chikara Grand Championship during her time with Chikara, and she held the Shine and Shimmer Tag Team Championships at the same time. Laith is rumored to be joining the Mae Young Classic Tournament this summer.
Tonight’s edition of NXT will likely expand upon the recent news regarding Strong and Roode, and it will almost certainly help lead to a title match either on a future edition of NXT, or possibly at a future Takeover show on the network. As far as matches go, we know that Ember Moon will be returning from injury in a match against Peyton Royce, and SAnitY members Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe will be facing the Ealy Brothers as well. The main event will see the popular Kassius Ohno face NXT newcomer Aleister Black in what should be a hard-hitting battle wherein the winner could be anybody’s guess. Tune in to NXT tonight on the WWE Network to find out all of the latest news regarding the future superstars of Raw and Smackdown.
