London – British menswear designer Oliver Spencer is set to make his London
Fashion Week debut by staging a ‘See Now, Buy Now’ catwalk show, together
with social media app Vero and GQ magazine.
Although the designer previously presented his Spring/Summer 2017
collection during the men’s fashion week London Collections: Men in June
Oliver, Spencer is set to presented a curated selection of brand
signatures, as well as limited-edition Autumn/Winter 2016 items during his
on schedule LFW event. The show is set to take place at the London Fashion
Week show space in Brewer Street Car Park, Soho, London.
Similar to other ‘See Now, Buy Now’ shows hosted during New York Fashion
Week and London Fashion Week, a select number of seats for the show are
reserved for the public as well as press and buyers. Those interested in
reserving a seat can contact GQ, who is allocating consumer places vi a
first come, first serve basis. The catwalk show will also be live-stream on
the British Fashion Council website and British GQ website.
Following the show, key items will be offered for sale online on Oliver
Spencer’s profile on Vero and on GQ website. Vero, a social media platform
which allows users to develop a following, ‘buy-now’ feature offers users
the option to make a purchase via credit card of Apple Pay. The designer
has been working with the app for the past few weeks, using it to share
behind the scene photos and his creative design process and drops hints
concerning his upcoming show.
“I was blown away by the huge potential of the platform and wanted to be a
part of it,” said Spencer to WWD. “It got me thinking about the best ways
to showcase the buy-now technology. I wanted to host a show, but one with a
difference and the result is a retail show in the truest sense for both
consumers and press.”
The partnership with Oliver Spencer marks Vero second presence at London
Fashion Week, following a similar deal with Alice Temperly, which saw the
designer offering three designs from her Spring/Summer 2017 collection for
sale via the app’s “buy-now” option.
Oliver Spencer AW 2016 show is set to take place Tuesday, September 20 at
Brewer Street Carpark.
