Tottenham fans didn’t know what hit them on Tuesday as the Premier League side were linked with a having couple of transfers in the pipeline.
The transfer window closes on Thursday at 5pm, so Daniel Levy is likely to be busy until then and we know he likes to leave things late, so here’s the latest.

In Italy it is being reported Tottenham and Juventus have agreed a fee, believed to be around £65million, for Dybala. The forward was rumoured to be close to joining Man United last week, but his wage demands and complications around his image rights hindered the move. The Mail reported the club were not willing to pay the £15m his agent, Jorge Antun, wanted as a commission to negotiate the purchase of his image rights.
Spurs are able to offer Champions League football, unlike United, but it is thought the 25-year-old wanted as much as £350,000 a week to play at Old Trafford.
As talkSPORT reported, Barcelona will allow him to leave on loan before Thursday and four Premier League clubs – Tottenham, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool – have all been linked. Spurs are believed to be in the lead to land the midfielder, who briefly played under Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol. There seems little chance of Coutinho being a regular at Barca and moving him off their wage bill would certainly help the LaLiga side finance Neymar’s return.
“Sergio Busquets, who plays in the centre of Barca’s midfield where predominately they play 4-3-3, still has a computer for a brain, but athletically he’s much slower,” Spain-based journalist Graham Hunter told talkSPORT.
“While [manager] Ernesto Valverde has been there, instead of never playing two organising midfielders, he has had to use somebody to prop up Busquets – to do his running for him – and that has largely been Ivan Rakitic.
“So that’s two slots used where Coutinho would have been trusted to play. He hasn’t particularly enjoyed playing as a wide striker and hasn’t really clicked with Lionel Messi.”
The Times report the fact Tottenham have been trying to complete a £54m deal for 23-year-old Lo Celso since the end of last season, but with Real Betis insisting that the midfielder’s buyout clause of £88 million is met in full, Spurs have explored other options.
One alternative to Lo Celso is Sporting midfielder Fernandes and it is being reported personal terms have been agreed between Tottenham and the player. The Mail claim club president, Frederico Varandas, would be willing to accept an offer of £55m and a further £15m. Last season, the 24-year-old scored 20 league goals and created 13 in 33 matches.
As Eriksen has not ruled out leaving when his contract expires next summer, Spurs may sell him to finance transfers for either Lo Celso or Fernandes. Man United have emerged as the most serious contenders to sign him, with interest from Real Madrid cooling, as it is thought manager Zinedine Zidane only wants Paul Pogba, which would free up space for Eriksen.
The 19-year-old has a year remaining on his contract and according to a number of reports Tottenham and Fulham, who were relegated last season, will settle on a £25m fee. Josh Onomah could move in the opposite direction, though the Evening Standard report the deals are separate from one another.
