Italian womenswear brand Pinko is adding an eyewear collection to its
ready-to-wear and accessories lines, with a range of sunglasses called “The
Pinko Invasion”.
The womenswear brand has teamed up with Italia Independent, an Italian
eyewear retailer launched in 2007 by Lapo Elkann, Giovanni Accongiagioco
and Andrea Tessitore to launch its debut eyewear collection.
The collection, which launches in December, has been made entirely in
Italy and consists of four models, each one with twelve colour schemes,
designed to complete the total Pinko look. Each pair of sunglasses
incorporates the trends and colours of the Pinko spring/summer 2016
collection.
Italia Independent states that the sunglasses stay “true to the DNA” of
the Pinko brand, combining innovation with affordable luxury, as well as
being “undeniably feminine,” and that they will be priced around 150 euros
each and available from selected Pinko flagship and travel stores, as well
as Italia Independent.
“Eyewear is a new adventure for us, a strategic product category with
long-term potential,” said Pietro Negra, president and CEO of Pinko.
“Collaborating with Italia Independent guarantees exclusive know-how and
quality.”
