The Florentine menswear show Pitti stated a record of exhibitors at its AW09 exhibition gave confidence to a volatile market.
The nearly 1,000 exhibitors were seen by roughly 35 thousand visitors, which included buyers, agents and sales reps, exhibitor suppliers, press, PR offices and advertising agencies.
Buyer turnout and “flows” have changed – moving up the show by a day, not overlapping with the Milan calendar, trimming expenses and travel are the key factors – and the curve rose from the first to the fourth day. The admissions statistics seem to confirm a tendency to spend more time in Florence and at the Fortezza da Basso – to get more out of each appointment.
