Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy in a £47million deal.
The France international, who has agreed a six-year deal with the club, joins Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard at the Bernebeu as Zinedine Zidane continues his summer spending spree.
The 24-year-old’s presentation will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at the Santiago Bernabeu, an official club statement confirmed.
Ligue 1 side Lyon will receive £42.7m up front for the defender with the rest of the fee to come in add-ons.
Zidane’s side have already signed Chelsea’s Eden Hazard for a fee that could exceed £150m.
While striker Luka Jovic, who was presented at the Bernebeu on Wednesday, also arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt for around £58m.
The deal takes the club’s combined spends for the upcoming season up to £297.7m.
Mendy had a superb season on the left-flank of defence as Lyon finished third in the French top flight.
The full-back made 44 appearances in all competitions this term and won the first of three caps for France in November.
He started the world champions’ 4-0 win against Andorra in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday.
