PWInsider is currently reporting that Drew McIntyre was told to head backstage during the six-man tag team main event of this past Tuesday’s SmackDown Live. Reports from inside the arena said that McIntyre exited the match via the crew entrance/exit near the timekeeper’s table. McIntyre seemingly disappeared before the finish of the match, which saw The New Day overcome Sheamus & Cesaro, causing many to speculate that The Scottish Psychopath might’ve been injured.

Reportedly, there was no time to remove McIntyre from the match, and thus he was simply told to walk to the back. According to Mike Johnson, the original plan for the main event of SmackDown Live was to have WWE Champion Kofi Kingston face Drew McIntyre. As the day went on, the main event was changed to a six-man tag match.
