Tottenham’s derby draw with Arsenal left club legend Graham Roberts believing referees have an agenda against Spurs and are ‘ganging up’ against his former club.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were left frustrated after surrendering a two-goal lead to share the points in a feisty and thrilling 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
But the game was also littered with mistakes by players and officials, with the White Hart Lane faithful feeling they should have had two penalties in the second-half.

Tottenham were 2-0 up after Christian Eriksen’s opener and a spot kick from Harry Kane, given after Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka took out Heung-min Son with a wild tackle.
The hosts fought back thank to Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goals levelling the score, with Sokratis having a third ruled out for offside by VAR.
But Spurs had a number of controversial penalty shouts turned down by Martin Atkinson, the matchday referee waving away protests after substitute Dele Alli was wrestled to the floor by Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos, before Kane appeared to be barged over by Sokratis when through on goal.
Kane was widely accused of going to ground too easily, but Roberts is in no doubt Tottenham should have been awarded a penalty for each incident.
And he has accused referees of conspiring to thwart Spurs over the last year.
Speaking on talkSPORT 2, the UEFA Cup and double FA Cup winner with Tottenham said: “The referees over the last year, even since Pochettino had a go at Mike Dean at Burnley, have been right against Tottenham.
“I honestly believe that 100 per cent. I think what they’ve done is all ganged up and said to each other, ‘just don’t give them anything’.
“That’s obviously what’s happening.
“He’s got to give that penalty [the one that was given for Xhaka’s tackle on Son]. When somebody kicks you in front of the referee he’s got to give it.
“But the Harry Kane one at the end, that was 100 per cent a penalty.
“When you’ve played the game, you know players lean into you. Harry is in front of the player, he’s cut across him, he’s leant into him and the lad has just laid on top of him. If he didn’t do that, Harry gets a shot in.
“It was the same last week against Newcastle. If Lascelles doesn’t touch him Harry shoots and maybe has a chance of scoring.
“If that’s not a penalty, I don’t know what it. In any other country that would have been a penalty.
“Then there’s the Dele Alli one with Ceballos – you can’t put your arms around a player and drag him to the floor.
“He was rugby tackled! Maybe Ceballos should go and play for Saracens, maybe he’d get a game every week then. He’s obviously not going to play for Arsenal every week.
“It’s a waste of time having VAR if you’re not going to use it properly, get rid of it. It’s just ridiculous.”
