After an extremely exciting game with Delecta Bydgoszcz, Polish champion once again booked a ticket to the finals.
A few weeks ago Resovia stood against the dangerous perspective of falling of from semi finals. After beating Skra Belchatow, Rzeszow joined Delecta Bydgoszcz, who had no problem with eliminating Trefl Gdansk.In Bydgoszcz, Luczniczka stadium, hosts won the first game 3:2 and they lost 1:3 on the next day.
After coming back home, Resovia had to feel a lot of pressure, but also they had all those amazing and crazy fans, who were doing everything to help their team. The third game was quite easy. Delecta won only the first part, and then Polish champion took over and finished the rest of the game to their advantage.
Despite of the similar result (3:1) during the last match, this time we had the oportunity to see a real volleyball thriller. In the first set, Podpromie stadiumm suffered a blackout, so the game had to be stopped in the middle of it. After dealing with this failure, Delecta won this part. However, Resovia got back to work very quickly and gained the leading that let them play all the way through.
The third set was the most exciting one. Delecta went ahead 3:0 at the beginning, but Resovia didn’t let that happen for a very long time. Moreover, they gain a leading just before the first TTO. Delecta kept running after their rival and Resovia kept running away. After an extremely long finish, Jochen Schöps closed this part of the battle (with the result 30:28!).
The last set was also long and filled with long actions, great blocks, fantastic defenses and most of all – with the pure will of fight till the end. Delecta Bydgoszcz had a chance to bring the tie break, but in the end they lost and Resovia Rzeszow will have the oportunity to play for the gold medal of PlusLiga for the second time in a row.
