Kenny Dalglish has been named as an Icon player on FIFA 20 but his grandson is already preparing to ‘kick lumps’ out of him with a current Liverpool star.
Dalglish tweeted his delight at being named in the Ultimate Team this year along with some of his other old team-mates.
He wrote: “Delighted to be confirmed as an @EASPORTSFIFA #FUT ICON. Good to get the band back together @Ian_Rush9 and @officialbarnsey! #FIFA20.”
Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo, Didier Drogba, Ian Wright, Ronald Koeman and Carlos Alberto are among the new icon players for the next instalment of the game.
Dalglish’s son, Paul, replied to his dad’s tweet about being in the new game.
He said: “Your grandson says he is going to play as @VirgilvDijk and kick lumps out of you.”
The Liverpool legend was quick to reply and tweeted a picture of what he will look like in the new game.
He said: “You can tell my grandson to pass this picture onto @VirgilvDijk. I’m ready!”
Van Dijk was not one to miss out on the chance to join the conversation and let them know he was ready.
FIFA 20 is released on September 24 with Eden Hazard the cover star for the standard edition while Van Dijk is on the champions edition.
Dalglish played for 13 seasons for Liverpool as a player during one of their most successful eras ever before going on to have two spells as their manager.
