This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw saw the crowning of brand new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, as Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won a Fatal 4-Way elimination match to take the belts from The IIconics, who were understandably devastated.
During the match, the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, also known as “Fire & Desire”, actually scored a pinfall victory over and eliminated the former champions. Sonya sent out a tweet stating that because of this, they should get “first dibs” at challenging Bliss and Cross for the belts.
So we pinned and eliminated the former champs …. I think that means we get first dibs at the new champs 😎 #RAW

Paige, who manages the Kabuki Warriors, took a slightly different approach in addressing the changing of titles on Monday Night Raw. The former women’s champion noted that “given the actual opportunity”, her girls could have had great matches with The IIconics, praising them for being “very entertaining champions”.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case as WWE stopped having the women’s tag titles defended on pay-per-view as soon as The IIconics won them at WrestleMania.
What’s all said and done the #IIconics were very entertaining champions. If given the actual opportunity @WWEAsuka @KairiSaneWWE @PeytonRoyceWWE @BillieKayWWE would’ve had killer matches. Congrats to the new champs. @NikkiCrossWWE @AlexaBliss_WWE keep em warm for us ladies 😘
