According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with all of the added revenue coming into WWE stemming from the new television deals with FOX and NBCU, WWE is looking to expand NXT, with a major focus being to open new Performance Centers internationally and develop NXT “territories” similar to the NXT UK brand. With the goal in mind, WWE will likely be looking to lock down more available talent to NXT deals.
In related news, with so much talent coming into NXT, there are those in WWE who are reportedly pushing for NXT TV to expand to a two-hour show, but it appears as if nothing has been decided upon as of this writing.
Those pushing for the expansion are also in favor of lengthening the NXT Takeover broadcasts, which generally run for two hours. With WWE already using the hour before Takeover events to tape the following week’s episode of TV, if Takeover events are expanded to three hours, that would be a total of a four-hour event, taking place just before a 5-6 hour main roster PPV the next night. As of now, there has been no confirmation that WWE plans to expand any of the televised NXT product.
