That led to a September 2016 appearance on the Late Late Show with James Corden that was seen around the world. But that isn’t the last foray into television for the crooner: He’s now officially a contestant on America’s Got Talent.
On Tuesday night’s episode, Yung soulfully sings the 1965 hit Righteous Brothers tune that made him famous. “I’ve been singing in the subway for roughly 37 years,” he tells Mel B, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, and Howie Mandel.
“Success is what you make it right?,” Yung asks. “But there’s no better stage, there’s no better place to be than right here.” Long before reality competition shows and social media, the singer did have a recording contract, so this all seems like a second chance.
