One title change took place on this week’s Championship Edition of Ring of Honor television.
La Faccion Ingobernable’s Dragon Lee & Kenny King defeated The Foundation’s Jonathan Gresham & Jay Lethal in a Pure Rules match on the show to win the ROH Tag Team titles. After Lethal had accidentally taken out La Faccion Ingobernable’s manager Amy Rose with a dive to the outside when King moved out of the way, Lee used an illegal closed-fist punch on Gresham while the referee was distracted. Lee then pinned Gresham to get the win.
Lee & King had defeated The Briscoes on ROH TV last week to become the number one contenders to the ROH Tag Team titles. Lee, who also holds the ROH Television Championship, is now a double champion.
Prior to losing the titles to Lee & King, Gresham & Lethal had been ROH Tag Team Champions since defeating The Briscoes at Final Battle 2019.
This week’s Championship Edition of ROH TV was headlined by La Faccion Ingobernable’s Rush retaining his ROH World Championship against Shane Taylor. Kenny King acted like he was going to stop Rush from using a chair while the referee was down during the match — but King then hit Taylor with the chair himself. After that, Rush hit a Superman Punch and his Bull’s Horns dropkick to retain the ROH World Championship.
