Two former Gophers, Brett Pfarr and Dylan Ness, are headed to Colorado Springs, Colorado for the Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament this weekend.
After finishing his career with 120 victories Brett Pfarr now trains at Minnesota and helps coach local teams. Now he’s prepared to make his senior level debut at 86kg.
“I’m excited to be in my first senior level competition to see where I’m at when up against these guy and test out how I feel,” Pfarr said.
Ness, who had 98 career wins in a Gophers singlet, has not competed since the end of 2018 and will get back on the mat at 70kg.
“I’m excited for the first tournament of the year,” Ness said. “It’s our first tournament of the year and I haven’t competed since the World Team Trials. It’ll be great to compete on Saturday.”
Ness and Pfarr will be accompanied by Minnesota Storm head coach Dustin Schlatter, another former Gopher.
