MURRIETA, CA — Plans to construct a 15,579-square-foot self-storage facility along Los Alamos Road in Murrieta are underway.
During the Nov. 13 Murrieta Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners are scheduled to take up the proposed project, including possible approval of a conditional use permit and a development plan permit for a U-Haul Self Storage.
The project targets 1.11 acres south of Los Alamos Road, about 160 feet east of Jefferson Avenue. According to city documents, the single building would be approximately 50 feet tall.
U-Haul already has a facility in operation, 25086 Jefferson Avenue, adjacent to the proposed site.
For the new project, one driveway is planned on Los Alamos Road. An existing internal driveway would connect the U-Haul sites and go through to Jefferson Avenue, according to city documents.
U-Haul, which launched in 1945 to offer trailer rentals for do-it-yourself movers, branched out in the 1970s to offer self-storage facilities.
The 6 p.m. Nov. 13 Murrieta Planning Commission meeting will be held at City Hall, 1 Town Square. See the full meeting agenda.
