The Under-21 European Championship begins on Sunday with high expectations for England success.
The side go in pursuit of a third Euro title, with their last coming in 1984, while also trying to emulate the success of the under-17s and Under-20s.
Both won the World Cup in 2017 while Aidy Boothroyd’s side lost in the semi-final.
There is always a weight of expectation when England go to any tournament, but perhaps more so now with the glut of talented youngsters being produced in recent seasons.

Four years ago, a promising England team went to the Euros in the Czech Republic with high expectations but it ended in disappointment.

Here is what has happened to that team of four years ago.

Over the last three seasons he has been a key member of the Southampton squad and only missed eight league matches.
