For a while now, we have seen Sasha Banks teaming up with Bayley over on Raw. The two have been awfully close ever since meeting each other on WWE’s main roster and they have been portrayed onscreen as best friends. Naturally, fans have been wondering if one of the two female superstars would turn on the other for months now. When Bayley defeated Sasha on this past week’s Raw for a chance to face Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship, it only added more speculation that Sasha would finally turn her back on Bayley at last. It appears that we may have an update on Sasha Banks’ future role in the company.
Dave Meltzer already suggested in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Banks’ loss seem to signify the start of a heel turn, but now Cageside Seats has come forward with claims also stating Sasha Banks is likely going to be turning heel soon. It is unclear whether or not Banks will be turning heel before or after SummerSlam, but it’s also possible that she could cost Bayley her match at SummerSlam that very night. Bayley and Sasha both proved that they can both have excellent matches against each other in NXT, and Banks also showed what a fantastic heel she could be when portraying her original “Boss” character. Sasha Banks definitely does seem to be in line for a heel turn imminently.
On the latest edition of Edge and Christian’s podcast, E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, the two friends confirmed that a second season of their WWE Network show is not likely going to be moving forward after all. They both claimed that they had a second season written out ahead of time, but WWE decided not to move forward with it because of cutbacks. Edge and Christian also said that they have a few other commitments that they will need to fulfill beforehand. They didn’t rule out a second season down the road, but is in “to be determined” status at the moment. PWInsider also says that a planned game show featuring R-Truth that was taped a while ago for the WWE Network has also been cancelled.
