Los Angeles – California-based apparel brand Vans will soon be hitting a
milestone birthday. The shoewear brand just announced it will be
celebrating its 50th birthday with year-long events to commemorate the
company.
The celebration comes from the company’s large success throughout the
years. Last year, the Cypress-based company ended with revenue up to 2.2
billion dollars, as reported by WWD. The amount was a 7 percent increase
from the year before. In 2012, the shoe brand’s goal was to reach 2.2.
billion dollars by the end of 2016. However, upon reaching that goal a year
early, it’s a definite cause for celebration for the company. The timing of
the brand’s success coincides along with Vans’ 50th birthday, which will
include a year-long string of events.
Festivities for the brand include skate-park venues, the House of Vans
event, and pop-ups throughout the country. The skate-influenced apparel
label will be hosting these events in cities such as Brooklyn and Texas in
the U.S. Also, the brand will be popping up with events globally including
cities such as Hong Kong, Seoul, London, and more. The events will range
from fashion and retail pop-ups to hosting skating events and musical
performances from Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Erykah Badu and more.
