VeryExclusive.co.uk, the online luxury business from Shop Direct, has moved
into menswear department with the launch of its premium menswear offer.
The etailer has unveiled its new offering, which consists of 25 brands such
as Kenzo, Whistles, PS by Paul Smith, Hackett and Vivienne Westwood, in
time for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season.
“We’re delighted to be launching our menswear offer with such a covetable
range of brands,” commented Sarah Curran, Managing Director of
VeryExclusive.co.uk in a statement. “The appeal of VeryExclusive.co.uk is
that we give women access to brands they may not otherwise be able to shop.
And we know from months of market research that there’s an aspirational
male customer who is crying out for us to do the same across men’s
clothing, footwear and accessories.”
In addition to launching its menswear offer, VeryExclusive.co.uk is close
to signing up its debut concession partner, as the etailer plans for future
concession models to work alongside of its current wholesale model. “We’re
also excited to be in advanced talks with brands keen to work with us on a
concession model,” added Curran. “Alongside our wholesale proposition, we
see this as a huge opportunity. It will allow us to offer our customers
greater width of range, including top tier products. And for the brands
themselves, it provides the ability to really differentiate their product
range. It’s a complete win-win and we look forward to announcing our first
concession brand very soon.”
The new menswear offer will target aspirational men between the ages of 26
and 25, a high number of which already shop at Shop Direct’s flagship brand
Very.co.uk. The new menswear offer will mimic the successful womenswear
content strategy, offering magazine-style editorials, fashion advice and
product recommendations. Customers will also be able to use Shop
Direct’s credit
offer, which include ‘Takes 3’, to purchase premium menswear brands.
“VeryExclusive.co.uk’s success is built on attracting the luxury brands our
customers tell us they want to shop, personalising their end-to-end
shopping experience, and making the pieces they love accessible via our
unique range of ways to spread the cost,” said Alex Baldock, group CEO at
Shop Direct. “Launching menswear on VeryExclusive.co.uk will enable us to
democratise luxury for men as well as women. Men want the option to buy
into premium brands as much as women and this will bring some of their
favourite labels within reach.”
“For spring summer 2017, we’ll be upping our roster of menswear brands to
35 and look forward to seeing the reaction from our customers.”
