Los Angeles – Designer Vivienne Westwood recently has made a big change for her
collection. After collaborating for years on designs with her husband
Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood has decided to add his name to her runway
collection label for Paris Fashion Week.
The reason that Westwood decided to add the name to the label was due to
her husband’s large contributions in the past with her designs. Her husband
has been working with her for years on various collections. He also is the
current creative director of the company. “Over the years, Andreas has
taken on ever-more responsibility, and I wish this fact to be reflected in
public perception,” Westwood told WWD.
Her label, starting with her Fall 2016 collection, will now be known was
Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. The brand will also be offering
two main lines including Vivienne Westwood and her husband’s new eponymous
line for the brand. The company currently has a turnover of 111 million
dollars, as reported by WWD. Last year, the company made over 333 million
dollars in sales. The new name change in the label is part of the company’s
way of restructuring. By adding these two lines but also consolidating the
brand, the Vivienne Westwood label is hoping for a more focused, structured
line. Overall, the new message of the brand will be clearer to the consumer
with these two offered lines.
